Hugo Lloris is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with and this is the patience he had spoken about earlier on when he first moved to Spurs and everyone was mad at AVB for not playing the French #1. He showed off his brilliance against Arsenal, held down the fort against Lazio, help claimed 3 vital points against West Ham and might just be back for the game against Liverpool tomorrow.
At least that’s what the fans are hoping for.
Thus far, Hugo Lloris has a 53% pass success rate, won 1 aerial duel, made 51 touches for an overall rating of 7.48 (via twitter).
And the agile goalie can afford even more.
Team mate, Emmanuel Adebayor had this to say:
“I knew him well already and what he has done hasn’t surprised me, because I know how good he is,” said Adebayor, who is suspended for the game at White Hart Lane. “We’ve got four amazing goalkeepers (Carlo Cudicini and Heurelho Gomes are also at Spurs), all good professionals working hard.
“We’re happy for Lloris because he has already had some fantastic games. I knew about him when I was playing in France and I still love watching the French league, so I’ve known for a while how good he is. I am also good friends with [striker] Bafetimbi Gomis, who played with Hugo at Lyon, and he has told me a lot about him. We are very happy to have him and in the last couple of games, he has proved himself to be one of the world’s best.”
It won’t be soon until AVB installs Lloris as the club’s number 1 if things continue as it stands. AVB should know that first and foremost, what he have, is a young goal keeper who plays like a vet, who gives his all and is a great team player. Any team will be lucky to have Lloris. I feel sorry for the other clubs who refused him.
