Lloris shines at the Stadium of Light

Spurs played away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and was rewarded with another victory on the road, 2-1. A clean sheet was in order for the superb Lloris who had a brilliant game by goal keeping standards, but a defense error led to a goal being conceded. Lloris has the best appearances per clean sheet record of any GK in the PL this season (1.8).

Like I said, he had a brilliant game and was even a trending topic on twitter.

Lloris played 90 minute, had 10 goal kicks and 12 saves (

Some notable minutes via

22:14 Sessegnon wriggles free on the right and crosses in, but it’s an easy claim for Lloris.

39:39 GOAL – SUNDERLAND – O’Shea opens the scoring. Larsson whips in the free-kick and Fletcher latches onto it, forcing a fine save from Lloris, but O’Shea is on hand to score the rebound.

53:30 Johnson forces Lloris to dive down to his left and parry the ball away with a shot from 20-yards out.

71:35 Lloris punches the free-kick clear.

92:30 We’re defending comfortably but Sunderland have a corner… Lloris is fouled and we have a free-kick.

The ONLY thing missing was a clean sheet for the goalie. He was a 5 star in this match and my Man of the Match. His excellent form help earned Spurs all 3 vital points. His handling and kicking were fine and he always seemed to be alert to danger as he made the right decisions to come for the ball.

Lloris v Sunderland:

Been a while: Sunderland took the lead through John O'Shea's first goal in more than three years

My heart simply beats football.
