He might not have kept a clean sheet and he might not have won, but Hugo Lloris caused quite an uproar when he tackled Theo Walcott cleanly to deny Arsenal a second goal in the first half.
Lloris and the Spurs took on Arsenal at the Emirates and Lloris sliding tackle on Theo Walcott caused an instant twitter take over with fans and enemies alike commenting on how underrated he is, how talented he is, how he is the best in the BPL and some even went as far as to say he’s better on the ball than Gerard Pique. Lloris is a beast and if not for him, Spurs might have been in much more trouble. His slide tackling was boss!
Lloris was the Man of the Match for me because had it been not for him, Spurs certainly was not going to lose 1-0. I remembered his EPL debut last season was against Arsenal and despite losing 5-2, he shone. He repeated his shining performance today again, only that this time, he did not lose by a traditional margin.
Lloris v Arsenal
That’s Lloris putting Giroud under pressure there
