It’s been a while since I’ve done a monthly report on one of the best goalies in the world. He has participated in 11 matches for the season thus far, keeping 8/11 clean sheets. He has started the season on fire and I hope he continues along this path. It’s a demanding job, but Lloris takes his job seriously as a defender-goalie.
My favorite game he has featured in thus far was the one away to Arsenal. Sure, the team lost 1-0, but had it not been for Lloris, they would have conceded much more. He made four saves and was the Man of the Match. His worse game was Belarus v France. I can forgive him for that one because he was not feeling well but I think he did all right. France ended up winning that game 4-2.
So let’s look at how he did in the month of September in which he participated in 7 games:
Clean sheets: 4 (1 for France; 1 in the Europa and 2 in the EPL)
Goals conceded: 4 (just 2 in the EPL & 2 for France)
Yellow cards: 1 (for handling the ball outside of his area in the match, Spurs v Norwich)
Red cards: 0
And to compare that with his season stats:
Season total clean sheets thus far: 8 (2 with France, 4 in the EPL & 2 in the Europa)
Season total goals conceded: 4 (see stats above)
Total bookings: just the one yellow card (see above)
Total apps: 11
There’s an international break this month as France seeks to play and win a friendly and one more WCQ.
