Following Spurs 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening, Hugo Lloris came out tops and earned widespread praise for his performance.
There was not a goal in the match until the 56′ which came from Fulham, but Spurs persisted and Vlad equalized in the 73′. Holtby later scored the decisive winner in the 82′ but it was Lloris who kept Spurs in the game throughout and he also showed why the team’s defensive performances have been impressive if not superb.
AVB had only praises for the Frenchman:
“He needed a game like that for his confidence. A goalkeeper that is called into action in a game has a boost of confidence.
“It can be a boost of confidence for him to have this kind of impact.
“We bought him last year with a view to strengthen, he fought hard to get his place back but he is a top, top goalkeeper and he has ambitions for himself and the club.
“He showed all of his qualities once again.”
Indeed the goalie had a great game and he also had a great save off Berbatov among the other string of impressive saves he made late on. He won the game for his team.
According to the club’s official site, he played the full minutes and had 5 saves.
Next up, Sunderland.
