Lloris happiness as Spurs win away to Sunderland

Before I talk about yesterday’s game or Lloris’ performance for that matter, some fans have been asking about the ‘red stuff’ on his gloves.

The ‘red stuff’ is poppies. The goalie wore poppies of remembrance on his gloves during the game at Old Trafford.

And someone also asked what he thought about the World Cup draw:

“I say this with huge respect for the teams, but I don’t really know any of them.”

In case you missed the draw, Hugo’s France was drawn in Group E with Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

To yesterday’s game!

Sunderland hosted Spurs and ended up losing 2-1 but again, they were made to fight to even claim three points. Sunderland went ahead through Johnson in the 37′ after an error by Lloris. The goalie punched the ball to clear, but it fell to Johnson, who made no mistake in putting that away. Paulinho equalized just before half time to make it 1-1 at the break. In the 49′ O’Shea handed Spurs an own goal and that was all the action where it concerns goals.

This result meant a lot to Lloris at the end of the game:

Some fans are worried that Lloris is not the goalie he was since the concussion but I think had it not been for him, Spurs might have been fighting a relegation battle. The team is not scoring enough goals to create a greater goal difference although sitting at #6 at the moment. They need to start doing more in the goals department.

Sure, he did not have a good game against Man City, but who won the game for the team v Fulham? If you can’t support the goalie when he’s having a bad period, don’t support him period.
