Starting XI: Lloris (c); Naughton, Dier, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Paulinho; Holtby, Townsend, Kane; Soldado.

Hugo Lloris captained Spurs to a 2-1 victory in the first leg of the Europa League Qualifier against AEL Limassol in Cyprus. Limassol went ahead in the first half through Sardinero. Nothing Lloris could have done about that goal.

In the second half, Spurs claimed two goals thanks to Lamela, who came on and changed the game providing two assists: one for Soldado in the 74′ and Kane six minutes later.

After the match, captain Lloris said: “It was difficult to find space in the first half against a team that played deep but we came back and won which was important.”

Lloris had a good game. He was characteristically quick off his line whenever he read danger and had some nice saves.
